Cheryl David is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, the University of Baltimore School of Law, and the prestigious Trial Lawyer’s College presided over by Gerry Spence. A former administrative judge, Cheryl is certified as an Estate Planning Law Specialist by the ABA accredited Estate Law Specialists Board, Inc. She is also a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, Medicaid Practice Systems, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. In 2008, Cheryl received the honor of becoming a Fellow with the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. In order to maintain this advanced expertise, Cheryl takes over 36 hours of continuing education in Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Taxation each year. Also a Financial Planner, she holds the Series 7 and 66 Investment Licenses in addition to both Insurance and Long Term Care/Medicare designations. Her professional capabilities, together with over 25 years in practice, have combined to bring positive change to the lives of over 4,500 clients and their families.
Justin Plummer is an Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration Attorney with The Law Offices of Cheryl David. He focuses his practice on probating estates as well as administering different types of trusts, as well as real property law and real estate transactions. He also works with local entrepreneurs and other business organizations throughout other areas of North Carolina to establish business organizations and represent their interests in business transactions.
Justin earned two Bachelor of Science Degrees at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. where he double-majored in Pre-law and Psychology. He then received his Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia where he received the CALI Book Award in State and Local Government Law. Before coming to the Law Offices of Cheryl David, Justin practiced in the areas of Real Property, Business and Estate Planning law in and around the areas of Charlotte and Greenville, N.C. Justin is a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity, is an A.F. & A.M. Freemason, and a member of the Guilford County Rotary. Justin is also a member of the Greensboro Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, and The North Carolina Bar Association Section of Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law. He is also a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. While not at work, Justin enjoys attending and playing live music, watching the Carolina Panthers, and hanging out with his Fiancé Jena, Pointer Holden and Beagle Benny.
Paul Zucchino is an estate planning attorney with The Law Offices of Cheryl David. He focuses his practice on Medicaid planning and elder law, in addition to estate planning. Paul earned his B.A. at the College of Charleston in South Carolina where he majored in History. He then received his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University. Before he began working for the Law Offices of Cheryl David, Paul practiced estate planning, probate and elder law in Raleigh.
Blaire David McClanahan
Blaire David McClanahan, Cheryl’s oldest child, is an estate planning attorney with the Law Offices of Cheryl David. She received her Juris Doctorate from Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2014. Prior to attending Elon, Blaire attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. While at North Carolina State University, Blaire received her Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship.
Blaire is a native of Greensboro, having attended Grimsley Senior High School (Go Whirlies!). While not at work Blaire enjoys skiing and traveling, but most of all, she enjoys spending time with her husband, George, and their two beloved dogs.
Client Relations Coordinator and Paralegal
Terri Busby is the Client Relations Coordinator. Terri has over 20 years of legal experience and is dedicated to providing our clients with exceptional customer service. She has been with our firm for over 14 years. Terri is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina and still lives in Greensboro with her husband Jay and daughter Miranda, as well as their dogs, Harley and Salley.
Financial Advisor/Wealth Management Assistant
Rhonda Chaney is a financial planner and executive assistant to Cheryl David and Linus Whitlock. She has been with our firm for 10 years and has 25+ years of administrative and financial services experience. Rhonda graduated Summa Cum Laude from Greensboro College in 2000 with a BS in business/finance. She holds securities licenses 7, 63, and 66 as well as NC Life and Health and NC Long Term Care Insurance. Her granddaughters make her life special.
Kemp Parsons is a paralegal in our Estate Planning Department. She is a graduate of Lenior-Rhyne University with a Bachelors’ Degree in both Psychology and Human & Community Services. Kemp is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal who has worked in both criminal and family law prior to becoming part of our firm. She resides in Greensboro with her husband and daughter.
Casey Losinski is the final signing paralegal for our Trusts and Estate Planning Department. She assists clients with reviewing and understanding their estate plan before signing their documents. She also helps clients transfer title to their assets into their trusts and provides assistance with any follow-up needs. Casey has over 15 years of experience in the legal field. She earned her Associate’s Degree in paralegal studies from the University of Toledo, before returning to her hometown of Madison, NC, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
Colleen Lepore is a paralegal in our Estate Planning Department who focuses on Medicaid planning and elder law. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She began her career in finance working in the mortgage insurance industry. Colleen has extensive experience as a estate planning paralegal, as well as with civil and criminal litigation. We are proud to share that she has been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for abused children in Wake County since 2009 and continues to serve the community in meaningful ways today.
Tami Durham is a Paralegal at the Law Offices of Cheryl David who is responsible for the daily case management for our probate department. She has over 27 years of business and technical experience as a former senior business analyst with American Express. Tami lives in Greensboro with her miniature pinschers and is an avid cyclist, and can boast tackling a ride in Death Valley. Also active in the community, Tami is a long-time Red Cross volunteer.
Paula St. John
Office Manager and Paralegal
Paula St. John is the office manager and senior paralegal for Cheryl David. She has 25 plus years of paralegal, administrative, legal and management experience and has worked with Cheryl David over the past 18 years. She is responsible for managing the day to day operations of our office and managing work flow for our staff. Paula has a Bachelor’s Degree in East Asian Studies from Colby College and a Master’s Degree in English from UNC-G. She lives in Brown Summit, NC with her husband Joe and son Jamie.
An early career in forensic science gave Linus the meticulous attention to detail now that benefits all of his financial planning clients today, and he has been providing financial services to families and small businesses in the Carolinas since 1993. Before joining lst Global in 1999, Linus obtained the Certified Financial Planner® designation in addition to his Series 6, 7, 63, 65, Life and Health Insurance and Long Term Care Insurance licenses. Prior to joining the Law Office of Cheryl David, Linus served as an in-house financial adviser for the clients of several well respected CPA firms in North and South Carolina, and today he works to educate others in his role as lst Global’s Carolinas “WIN” (Wealth care Instruction Network) team leader. When not counseling clients, Linus serves as an elder and treasurer in his church, a leader in his sons’ Boy Scout Troop, and directs the school chess club. He has three sons: Logan, Daniel, and Andrew.
Logan Whitlock is a graduate of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. He is a Certified Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) and has his securities licenses 7, 66, and NC Life and Health and Long Term Care Insurance. He works closely with his father, our Director of Financial Services, who has over two decades of experience as a financial adviser. He is also a Lieutenant of the South Carolina Army National Guard in a military intelligence unit in Anderson, South Carolina. Logan takes a holistic approach to a client’s financial situation in order to help visualize their goals and make an efficient plan to help our clients achieve peace of mind over their finances.
Director of Marketing and Client Relations
Jennifer Weaver is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for our the Law Office of Cheryl David. Jennifer has been in the legal field in some capacity for 18 years. Her experiences cover a broad spectrum in law including civil litigation, criminal litigation, family law, traffic Court and of course, estate planning—just to name a few.
Jennifer served as a Guardian Ad Litem in Onslow County for 10 years. She currently focuses her passions as a volunteer with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the American Cancer Society, The SPCA, One Step Further, Inc., and is a media liaison for the American Red Cross.
Long Term Care Planner
Ellen is a long term care planner with sixteen years of experience in Greensboro, North Carolina. She works with individuals, families, and companies to provide affordable solutions to meet the rising costs of long-term care. Prior to returning to her hometown of Greensboro to become a caregiver for her mother, Ellen spent thirty years in public accountancy. She is an advocate for seniors on the national, state and local issues surrounding the aging. She is a Senior Fellow of the NC Institute on Aging at UNC-CH and once worked as President of the Triad Retirement Living Association in addition to being the President of the Board of Directors of the Adult Center for Enrichment—a United Way agency providing adult day care and day health. Ellen is currently a member of the Guilford County Senior Services Roundtable and maintains membership in the local and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors in addition to being an active member of the American Association for Long Term Care.
Asheley Hall is a legal assistant at the Law Offices of Cheryl David who assists our Client Relations Coordinator and our Marketing Director. She is personally responsible for ensuring our clients receive exceptional customer service. Asheley grew up as a military child and has traveled extensively throughout the United States and overseas. Today, she lives in Greensboro with her sweet and fun pitbull, Bosco.
Personal Insurance Executive
Lyn Bowen is a Personal Insurance Specialist with Craft Insurance. He has been helping clients find the best solutions for their health insurance needs for 8 years. During that time, he has helped over 800 individual health clients and approximately 400 Medicare clients. Prior to that, Lyn managed sales for a major communication company for over 30 years, helping large and medium size clients improve their business operations. He currently holds a North Carolina Health and Medicare Supplement license and has completed the training and certifications required by the State Insurance Commission, Center for Medicare Service, and the Affordable Care Act. Lyn and Craft maintain preferred relationships with BCBS, UHC, and other providers such as AARP. Lyn obtained his business degree from Greensboro College in 1992.
