About
Attorney Blaire McClanahan received her BS degree from NC State in Business Administration. She then earned her JD from Elon Law School in 2014 and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2015.
She is the Managing Partner at the Law Offices of Cheryl David in Greensboro, NC, where she focuses on trusts, elder law, nursing home protection, wills, asset preservation, estate planning, trust administration, probate administration, and adult long-term care Medicaid.
She has also co-authored the book, How to Protect Your Family’s Assets from Devastating Nursing Home Costs (2018 and 2020), and regularly speaks at public and private events to educate North Carolina residents on elder law and estate planning. Blaire also hosts webinars throughout the year on estate planning and asset protection.
Blaire’s professional involvement includes membership in the North Carolina Bar Association, Greensboro Bar Association, and Greensboro Estate Planning Council. She previously served as Treasurer of the Piedmont Triad Women Attorneys (2016–2017) and as Treasurer for a cemetery board in Danville, VA for four years. From 2019–2021, she taught an Elder Law course at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) for graduate students - one of her proudest accomplishments.
Recognized for her professionalism and leadership, Blaire was named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor extended to a select group of attorneys nationwide. She also serves on the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. Blaire has been named to the American Bar Association’s Top 40 Under 40 Attorneys list, as well as the Triad Business Journal’s Top 40 list. She is also the 2026 Executive Chair of the Alzheimer’s Association Walk in Guilford County.
She is a current member of the National Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, and the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. In the past, Blaire served as a Preceptor at Elon Law School, mentoring 2 - 3 law students per year interested in this field.
Blaire has been named a Rising Star by North Carolina Super Lawyers for the past three years and is a Certified Medicaid Planner™ (CMP™).
